GREAT GRANDMOTHER CHECKING IN!!!!

Yep, I had a great grandbaby presented to me on September 6th, in Italy. That is where the parents, Gregory and Holly are stationed. The beautiful part, Greg got to be with his wife and hold the baby boy, right after he was born. What a lovely experience. I am sure he was grateful to the Army for letting him come back from Afghanistan to share that with his wife.

First babies aren't the favorites, but they tend to be the most emotional births. You watch a baby grow for 9 months, and suddenly, there is a real person in your arms. Tiny, and helpless, but non-the-less...a beautiful human being that you have helped create. What a thrill. What a neat thing for me, too. I have never been a Great Grand Nan before. I am speechless.

Perhaps the baby, being born in Italy, will go back some day, many years from now, and see where his birth took place. I think there was a pile or two of Texas soil somewhere so he could say he was born in Texas, later in his life. He will want to brag about that someday, I am sure. I thought that was so clever to send Dirt from Texas. I would never have thought of that.

He is a good baby, Holly says. They can be interesting. They are all different..so it is fun to see which "kind" you are given!!!

Happy Birthday, G3, and God Bless you and your parents.
