MEMORIAL DAY

Here we are sitting at the Beach House, enjoying our view of the gulf. It is churning this trip, as I THINK there are several storms brewing. This is hard to see, but there are many people on the beach, and not too many swimming. I think that is smart!!! We are flying our flags to honor the military men that have given their lives for us, and for the men and women that are serving today. Jay is out hanging the flags again, yesterday was so windy I took them down last night as I figured we could save 12 hours of whipping! Today is much nicer, and the sun is out! We had mostly cloudy yesterday. As you can see, the flags are straight out from their poles!!!! It was hard to stand yesterday.
Perhaps this time next year, our troops will be victorious in helping the Iraqi people take over their country from the terrorists, and Afghanistan will be finished, also. God Bless our troops. God Bless America and God Bless President Bush. The most beautiful flag in the world, flying poudly at the Beach House. Have a meaningful Memorial Day.

TCU VISIT

Last Friday, a week ago, I drove to Plano, and over to Ft. Worth to watch Brittany's team beat San Diego State. It was a great game. Jake started the game, and although he didn't have his best night, the TCU team won the game and it was just a great game to watch. I think TCU fans are great, and of course, except for the larger number of fans, UT has great fans too. By the way, TCU swept the series with SD ST...good going!

I am proud of what Jake has brought to TCU. He is a decent wonderful man, and has so much to give. He is a great pitcher as well, and will, someday, be in the Bigs. I know, because he really loves the game, and is fighting through a bit of a slump at the moment. His last year's preformances were a bit better than this year's. You know, it kind of reminds me of our pitcher, Adrian Alaniz. He is a great pitcher, also. Slumped a bit, and is finding the plate and winning ball games with regularity. He just fought through it, like you are doing right now. It will return suddenly as it left...and you will smile again!!!!!

It happens in all sports. I can name names, but won't. Golf, oh my goodness..you seem never to get out of a slump at times. Then football, and tennis and basketball , soccer, hockey and Lacrosse, and of course, baseball. Batters have slumps. Pitchers have slumps. Fielders have their time...so, although he won't see this..Jake..hold your head up high. Pitch your game, and let others worry about balls and strikes..you will do fine. Throwing and Pitching are two different things..YOU pitch! Enjoy your college days as they will be gone faster than you can ever imagine. Life is full of adventure and fun and turmoil and troubles...College days are the easiest! Believe me...it is so.

The other night after the game Brit asked me to give the Horned Frog signal..well..I stuck up my "Hook 'em" sign \m/ just to honor you and your team. Good luck for the coming tournament and hopefully Omaha. Remember...Set your goals high..then when you attain them, you can say "Job well done"... Go Frogs. Love you guys!!!!!

Now, off to a Longhorn game with Missouri...we will have our hands full tonight!!!!
