BASEBALL Spring FOOTBALL AND PIZZA

We are in the midst of a 3 game series with Kansas State. We have won the first two games by a whopping 14-2 and 14-3. They have played 16 innings without scoring, and wait until the 9th in both games to score. We had a great day at the plate, with lots of doubles, a home run, and a few tripples. Texas has a solid team, and if they continue to grow, they will be formidable in Omaha this coming June. Tomorrow will be the last game, and if we play as well, we will start Big XII 6-0. That is a switch. We usually have to climb back from someone sweeping us, early.

Between watching the Horns, and inquiring about TCU baseball, I am a busy person. I hope Jake wins all his games, and maybe we can do what we said, meet in Omaha. That would be just too much fun! Texas had a look at him, but felt they had enough pitchers. So, like Houston, they may rue the day they passed him by.

Speaking of Houston. Now, isn't that something? Carr is no longer their QB and Vince Young could have been theirs, with the first pick. He would have been thrilled, and as it turns out, so would Houston. I think their Aggie coach didn't want to show him they thought he was any good. Just my feeling about it.

Spring Football is underway again, and the Orange and White game cannot be far away. I will bet all my money Texas wins, and you know, because of the loyal fans, and the turn out, Texas will win. (not to mention O v W are all Texas..)

Well, I am so full I can hardly type. Really! After the game, we decided to go eat at Mr. Gaddis Pizza. We had not been there since Debbie and all lived here. I bet that has been a few years ago. I ate some spaghetti, the maranara sauce was outstanding. Then, 2 pieces of cheese pizza. A great cinnamon roll made with pizza crust. Then another cinnamon roll, as the first one was so good. Then, a piece of apple pie pizza. Ohmygosh..am I crazy or what? I am going to gain 2 pounds tonight. I don't even care. Oh, I forgot the 1/2 cinnamon roll I shared with Jay, as he didn't want a whole one. Gosh, I couldn't waste that lovely morsel. (I didn't) Now I won't get on the scale tomorrow.

Holly and Greg are about to have their 3rd wedding anniversary. I sent them something they wanted, a Picturemate printer. They are so wonderful. Debbie gave me one for Christmas, and I use it a lot. She will too. What with a new baby and all.

Geoff came by yesterday to say adios. He is heading to Plano for 2 weeks recruiting with AF then off to Tacoma, Washington, and McChord AFB. He will enjoy the Olympic Mountains, the puget sound, the mountains around, and all the rain. They get so much rain that it makes us look silly complaining about our little bit of moisture! My parents grew up in Seattle and Bremerton, and both went to the Univerity of Washington. My daddy was a Husky football player for one year. He said after he realized he wasn't a player, his grades went up, and he excelled in academics, instead of blocking. (I think he said he was a guard or tackle) Yes, Geoff will certainly be back "home" for my family, and I hope he loves it there. (but not more than Austin)

We are going to watch Kansas win tonight, I hope. All we have left in tournament since the Aggies lost. I was upset they lost, as they had a chance to win. But, isn't that sports? Isn't that, sometimes, life?

Til later...
