GOLF AND RAIN

What is going on? I had not played golf in 4 months. Austin has had no rain to speak of in 400+ days until yesterday.

We had a 90% chance for rain. Yes, that is a lot, but that still leaves 10% with little or no rain. Star Ranch got all 90% and just during the hours that we played. We teed off at 1:30 and about 15 minutes before the call to carts, the heavens opened up. It tried to stop for about 15 mintues, but otherwise, it rained on us the whole day.

It not only rained, it got COLD for me. My husband had a jacket in his golf bag, so I didn't totally freeze. When we got through, I had brought a change of clothes (goes back to those old tournament days, when you just took more clothes if there was even a small chance of moisture)...went in and got dry, and we ate dinner. Had a great day. This tournament is probably not going to continue, but it was for the Food Bank. We like to give to something that does some good in our community.

Well, it looks dark, and it is cooler today. I think I will wear slacks!

Must be getting closer to winter. (at least for a day or two)

Horns play Missouri this Saturday. We are number 1, regrettably...I say that because it is too early in the season to be ranked so high..you get that bullseye on your back, and it makes it tougher. We will have 4 more hard games, and a couple that will be difficult. (the rest are tough)
Perhaps we will surprise, and win them all. Now, wouldn't that be special? One at a time.

Oh, another thing. I figured how to break the drought, at least in Austin. Schedule this golf tournament. Yesterday, 2" recorded, 3 or so years ago 5" during same tournament. Pretty high odds that it will rain. Schedule every month. Dry yards go away. See how simple it is to solve problems? And cheap.
